To power up your efficiency efforts, energizer Mars will make its biennial visit to Libra from October 4 to November 19. You’re ready to tackle whatever “problem spot” you set your sights on—and to be as proactive and solution-oriented as possible. (Think: charging Bull!)

When the warrior planet does its half-marathon through this sporty sector, your athletic and competitive side could emerge. But since #NoLimits Mars has a tendency to overdo it, make sure you stretch before and after workouts and avoid extreme dietary changes. Stress levels can rise while Mars is in this intense and perfectionist zone. Make time to relax and replenish your energy stores.

How’s the lineup on Team Taurus? Employees and helpful people fall under the sixth house domain. With Mars here, you could be revved up to delegate duties to a rockstar intern or service provider. Or you could might experience with a coworker, perhaps dealing with snarkiness or underperforming. Assertive Mars prompts you to hold people accountable who aren’t pulling their weight. Maybe it’s time to level up to a new skill set? Outsource to specialists or sign up for training yourself. Your own knowledge base can benefit from a workshop or course.

While Mars in Libra can help you get ‘er done, this isn’t its most comfortable placement. The warrior planet’s in “detriment” (a frustrated position) in the sign of peace, a contrast that doesn’t always mesh so easily. It also won’t be a month full of Libra “love and light” vibes since the Sun will embattle itself in a couple of clashing aspects with other planets.

The first, on October 7, is a square to rigid Saturn in your ninth house of higher learning and expansion. Big ideas could ram into what feels like major barriers or perhaps get some pushback from the powers that be. Decision makers could have unrealistic demands, asking for the moon while barely promising any stardust in return. Be careful that you don’t pour hours of work into a proposal or initiative without having a clear green light. (“Sounds great!” isn’t the same as “yes.”) Or you might be the one trying to get a bold concept cleared, only to be faced with an endless demand for paperwork and bureaucratic demands.

Maybe it’s best if you keep a little bit of intel under wraps and just quietly observe before sharing your visionary plans. On October 3, transformational Pluto will end a five-month retrograde in Capricorn that began on April 24, driving some of your projects into the “underworld” or even imposing a gag order on some Bulls. Well, it felt like that, anyway! In truth, this was an excellent time to go behind the scenes to learn, tinker and test a few iterations. Sure, you may have encountered a few skeptics, even haters, along the way. But you’ve also learned something important: Stay true to your message but keep educating yourself and asking the important questions, even—especially—of yourself! Soon enough, your exciting and inspired ideas will start to move and flow. If you’re pondering a return to school or starting a business, potent Pluto moving forward in this sector can catalyze plans.

Wait to make any conclusive moves until after the October 13 full moon, which lands in Aries and your twelfth house of spirituality, hidden agendas and endings. This could be a powerful portal into an important transition that’s been brewing since before your birthday. Does some part of your life need to be wrapped up before another can begin? There could be huge realizations now and an inevitable push to let go of something you’ve been trying desperately to control. Surrender, Taurus—and listen to the universe instead of forcing an agenda.

The full moon will form an exact square (90-degree angle of tension) to Pluto, indicating that some hidden information could come to light. Or you could be struck by a lightning bolt of truth, perhaps from something you read or learn or discuss in a frank conversation. This could change the course of events for you, Taurus, providing a clue that brings you closure. Stay open: You never know who might be the “messenger” with exactly the info you need to hear.

Relationships take center stage starting October 23, when the Sun starts its monthlong visit to Scorpio and your seventh house of partnerships. At the October 27 Scorpio new moon, you could pair up with someone for business or pleasure, making your status official—or heading in that direction in the coming weeks. But no dynamic duo will take flight at the expense of your individuality, Bull!

This new moon will stand opposite liberated Uranus in Taurus and your first house identity and solo ventures. Any relationship will have to give you plenty of breathing room and the space to express your selfhood. Don’t rush in, either. With changemaker Uranus shaking up your entire self-concept and bringing rapid fluctuations to your lifestyle, committing won’t be the path to instant security. You’ve still got to do the work of figuring out who YOU are and what you’re all about.

Careful not to spin into “analysis paralysis” while you’re doing that mental equation, Taurus. On October 27 (the same day as the new moon), intense Mars in your analytical and anxious sixth house will form a challenging square to cautious Saturn in Capricorn and your big-picture zone. You could get way too much advice or feedback, leaving you frozen in your tracks. It’s a bit like having one foot on the gas pedal (Mars) and the other on the brake (Saturn). Be careful not to be a know-it-all or a harsh critic—unless, that is, you’re prepared to accept the same in return. You may need to gather more data before moving ahead with a big project. Or if you’ve been too in your head, this square could provide a much-needed dose of perspective, even if it’s not delivered gently. There’s a much bigger world out there than the one between your ears, fascinating as that universe may be!

Halloween arrives with treats (a lively moon-Jupiter mashup in Sagittarius and your erotic and mysterious eighth house—hello, sexy costume party!) and what feels like a trick…as the trickster planet Mercury will turn retrograde (backward) from October 31 to November 20. The planet of communication, travel and technology will reverse-commute through Scorpio and your partnership zone, a tricky time for signing contracts or formalizing any alliances. Protect your most important data to the cloud and an external hard drive, and consider scanning any important legal docs if you only have a hard copy of them. You never know when that backup will come in handy.

With Mercury askew here, some Bulls might have second thoughts about a budding connection or find yourself at odds with a romantic partner. This CAN be a fruitful time to work through your differences and have productive dialogue that cements your bond (even if it’s hard to hear at first). Retrogrades can bring back the past, so don’t be surprised if an ex surfaces. Proceed with caution rather than rushing in for a reprise.
