The Uranus in Taurus transit, in effect for the next 7+ years, will push the hands of fate to release an important wake up call BULL STYLE.

On May 15, 2018, innovative Uranus, the planet of revolution, technology and rebellion, moves from firebrand Aries into conservative Taurus, entering the Bull’s pen for the first time since 1942.

This year, 2018, might become one that, collectively, we will look back on years from now. We might remember it as a long, winding curve, with no clear sightline on the final destination. But change is coming regardless, and all we can do is keep turning those corners until the endpoint becomes clearer.

Uranus transits in the horoscope bring liberation and change through disrupting stagnant energy. In the fixed, earth sign of Taurus, the structures of our lives that are the most physical, grounded, and otherwise unchanging may take the biggest hits.

This will ultimately be to our benefit, as Uranus (aka the “Great Awakener”) shakes us out of complacency by showing us the areas where we’ve become stagnant or stuck, and creates situations in which the status quo is no longer tolerable.

This process of delivering insight through disruption and frustration provides a much-needed catalyst for growth and positive change. In my experience, even the most chaotic and unusual Uranian experiences ultimately prove beneficial in the long run, and for this reason I consider Uranus a “benefic” planet.

Uranus is a far-outer planet and moves in slow, 84-year cycles, so for most of us this innovative and liberating transit will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience! To get a more complete picture in this general forecast, please check your Rising, Sun and Moon sign as I’ve included specific indications for each (if applicable).

Also be sure to check the degree of your Sun, Moon and Ascendant and compare to the degrees and years listed in the section above to get more accurate timing of the influences described below.

Aries

Uranus in Taurus may initially feel like a bit of a relief for Aries Sun/Moon/Rising Signs, as Uranus has just spent the last 8 years transiting your sign and is finally moving on! While Uranus begins to leave your sign, things may begin to quiet down over the first couple of years as you work on integrating the changes brought about by this liberating, life-altering transit!

For Aries Rising (and Sun) signs Uranus will be moving into your 2nd house, compelling you to cultivate greater independence in the way you create finances. Internal frustrations along with powerful flashes of insight signal you to focus in on where change is most needed. Disruptions to your savings and material wealth are commonplace under this transit—both positive and negative.

You may find yourself quickly coming into money in strange and unexpected ways, and losing money just as swiftly under bizarre circumstances. The key here is to roll with the punches and to pay close attention to the circumstances surrounding your finances that have become restrictive, frustrating and intolerable.

If you are insistent on continuing with the status quo, this may be a very difficult transit as navigating the energy of Uranus requires that we roll with the punches and adapt when necessary.

Over time, this transit is likely to alter your values and beliefs surrounding money in a big way. This transit is great for developing your own business, or making a dramatic change that allows you to work more independently in pursuit of resources.

Making money via Uranian pursuits, such as technology, science, astrology, astronomy, or an independent business via the internet are all favored if you are so inclined.

Taurus

This transit brings a revolutionary re-set, shaking you out of complacency and stagnation across all areas of life! Uranus in your sign may bring dramatic changes in your self-image, as well as the way other’s see you. This could be due to a major makeover (especially for those with Taurus rising) or a newfound confidence and ability being your unique self more easily out in the world.

As you go through a profound personal transformation throughout this transit, your relationships will change as well. You will be craving greater personal freedom and will let go of relationships with others who are too controlling, needy or judgmental of your choices.

The freedom to explore new frontiers and to engage in rebellious, self-expressive behavior is necessary under this transit, and relationships with those who support you in this sense will flourish.

Because this transit aims to shake up stuck, frustrated energy by challenging the foundations of your life you once believed to be stable, those who remain rigid and inflexible in the face of change may have a difficult time with this transit. For those with Taurus Sun signs, these next 8 years may bring dramatic changes to your career, your path in life and the role that you take on out in the world.

There will be a frustration and intolerance for old, limiting patterns of behavior and beliefs, and a greater drive for autonomy as the changes that occur force you to dive deep and connect with your true purpose in life.

Those with the Moon in Taurus can expect disruption and surprising changes to the home, property and family life— especially in the family dynamic and relationship with the mother.

Emotions can feel like they are all over the place, and emotionally-charged situations can become more commonplace which cause to more easily engage with the full range of the human emotional experience.

This transit is commonly associated with an unexpected move or a change the family structure. Because the Moon has an association with memory, patterns and conditioning, you may find yourself more easily (and consciously) breaking free from old emotional conditioning, limiting behavioral patterns or unconscious routines throughout this transit.

Gemini

For Gemini, the transit of Uranus in Taurus will bring a much more subtle, below-the-surface effect. This transit may bring vivid, unusual and downright prophetic influences and inspiration through dreams and psychic impressions—so pay close attention to what’s going on behind the veil!

On a more physical level, Uranus may bring unexpected endings and clearings of karma, as the 12th house is the house of endings, loss and surrender. Shocking occurrences may pop up related to 12th house institutions (hospitals, prisons, brothels, monasteries, ashrams, temples, spiritual retreat centers, rehab facilities, etc.).

Hidden enemies may cause disruption, and secrets may come up to the surface in unusual and unexpected ways. While there is potential for some physical expression of this energy, the rebellious energy so closely linked to Uranus may express itself in a more subtle, subconscious way, with suppressed energy and rebellion bubbling up to the surface throughout this eight-year transit. This is an excellent time to work through unconscious impulses prior to Uranus moving into your sign, beginning in 2025.

Cancer

For Cancer Rising and Sun Signs, Uranus transiting your 11th house can bring many benefits through dramatic and surprising changes to your hopes, dreams and expectations! For those have been working hard to make the necessary changes to liberate yourselves from the oppressive shackles of rules, regulations and hierarchy in terms of your career, your hard work may begin to pay off in unexpected ways over these next eight years!

This house is associated with your friends, social networks, and the social causes you hold dear. Because of the eccentric Uranian influence in this house, you may find yourself drawn to unusual groups, networks and humanitarian causes that extend far beyond your current paradigm. New friends can come in unexpectedly to bring in an entirely new worldview that alters your sense of identity and, subsequently, the way you interface with the world at large.

Old friends may fall away just as easily, as you will be shedding friendships that are restrictive, burdensome and judgmental in order to allow more room to spread your wings and fly with the right crowd. You may find yourself rebelling against group pressure and the “hive mind” of your old networks and groups, doing and saying things that are shocking even to you!

For those with their Moon in Cancer, Uranus in Taurus will come into a supportive sextile with your Moon. This indicates that, if you choose to engage with this transit, you are supported in making positive changes to your emotional well-being, connection to your family (especially the mother) and place of living.

Leo

This transit brings BIG changes in success, career, public reputation and path in life for Leo Sun and Rising signs! For all of the fixed signs, this will be a life-changing transit which challenges you to become more liberated and independent in your life-decisions and pursuit of success.

Internal frustrations along with powerful flashes of insight signal you to focus in on where change is most needed. In extreme circumstances, accidents may occur to force a change or decision, so exercise caution when this aspect comes exact. This aspect can bring about a drastic career change that allows greater independence in your work, especially for Leo Sun signs.

This transit will bring up feelings of frustration, irritation and rebelliousness as you desire to become much more sovereign in your everyday experience. Uranus transiting your Sun, or your 10th house (Leo rising) may bring difficulties and unexpected situations involving the father and other authority figures in your life.

For prideful Leos, this aspect can bring wavering self-esteem as well as surprising jolts of inspiration and energy that seem to come out of nowhere! This can also bring unexpected changes to your health and vitality, where your energy runs quite high and requires a physical outlet to alleviate the potential for nervous tension and anxiety.

Overall, this transit leaves you feeling liberated as the outcome of this transit is greater freedom and authenticity in the way you present yourself to the world!

For those with the Moon in Leo, you can expect major disruption (both positive and negative) and unusual developments in the area of the home, property, children, family and pets, along with changes in the relationship with the mother. This is a common time for a long-distance move or a major change in the family structure.

You may find yourself craving greater freedom in your living situation, desiring to travel the world as a nomad, or simply desiring a change of scenery or a home redecoration or remodel. These changes can come on rather abruptly, and are most prominent in the years when Uranus is transiting the degree of your Moon (see section above).

As always with Uranus transits, even if the changes that occur feel chaotic and unsettling while you’re in the midst of transition, the end results are ultimately positive. You will feel more open and liberated the areas of life being impacted by this transit.

Virgo

With Uranus moving into the 9th house, Virgo Rising and Sun signs may find themselves faces with exciting new opportunities for expansion through experience and perspective! Keep an open mind while Uranus moves through the grounded, earth sign of Taurus, because many rigid belief patterns and philosophies will easily change over the course of this transit (and quite drastically, at that!).

Unexpected opportunities for travel or higher educational pursuits may make themselves known over these next eight years, and travel plans that are made during this time bring excitement, a broader perspective on life AND the potential for shocking new developments, the effects of which reverberate throughout your entire life!

You may find yourself attracted to unusual areas of study or eccentric teachers during this time, all of which will challenge your current paradigm and perspective on life! For those with the Sun in Virgo, Uranus in trine with your Sun or Ascendant (check the degree against the table in the section above to determine the exact year of this transit) will very easily bring greater liberation and freedom, as Virgos will be loosening up and being their authentic selves more freely and rebelliously.

You may crave a change in vocation, which can come about quite easily during this transit. A shift in perspective may cause you to want to break free from old molds and shift into work that is more meaningful and independent.

You may find yourself wanting a change in your appearance, which is advisable to assist in breaking up stagnant energy. By the time this transit is through, you may find yourself embodying a completely new role in life and absolutely loving it!

For those with Moon in Virgo, a liberating and gentle change can occur in your place of living, emotional expression and overall sense of comfort, safety and well-being. You’ll feel much more comfortable spreading your wings and flying outside of your usual comfort zones throughout this time.

This is a lovely transit for making a positive, yet drastic move and can bring beneficial disruption to the family structure—maybe even a new family member (be it a child or a beloved pet)!

Libra

For Libra Rising and Sun signs, this transit may bring power struggles that come about in shocking, unexpected ways. Sudden, ominous or fated events bringing great transformation and empowerment may occur.

Repressed emotions, fears or psychological traumas may re-surface in unusual ways to be reconciled and released, allowing you an opportunity to come into your own power without the excess baggage weighing you down. “Power” is certainly the key word in this transit, as Uranus awakens you to areas where you’ve given your power away unconsciously, causing a need to take new, innovative action to resolve these issues and take back your power!

On the flip side, if you’ve been abusing your power that will be revealed to you in way that shock you out of your old behaviors, causing a major shift in the way you operate out in the world.

Uranus in your 8th house may bring sudden, unexpected gains and losses through debt, taxes, joint finances and inheritance. Taking on new debt at this time is risky business, and old debts may come up unexpectedly to be resolved.

This transit also brings up unusual sexual impulses, shocking even yourself with what turns you on! With an inconjunction forming to your Sun or Ascendant (check the table in the above section to determine exact year) rebellious tendencies that have been repressed or suppressed are likely explode to the surface all at once! On the flip side, for those who have been too rebellious, individualistic or dogmatic, this energy will force you to tame it down a bit.

Scorpio

For Scorpio Rising and Sun signs, this transit is likely to alter your relationships quite dramatically. For those who are unattached, this can bring unexpected relationships with unusual partners that show up out of the blue like a bolt of lightning to shake up your sense of identity!

In some cases, this transit may bring unusual love affairs and relationships that challenge social norms! These relationships may feel exciting at first, and there is a chance they could last (especially if a committed relationship is a drastic change from the status quo), but often times relationships started under this transit can be a bit volatile, ending rather abruptly or taking on an on-again-off-again quality.

For those who are already attached, if you’re happy in your current relationship and things are going quite well, you may find yourself faced with the need to drastically alter your relationship dynamic—either due to a need for greater freedom within the relationship, or due to extenuating circumstances driven by outside forces. This transit often leads one or both partners to branch out and travel or take on more independent interests outside of the relationship.

Changing together is better than changing apart under these circumstances—it is important to find a good balance between supporting your partner in pursuing their new interests (however unusual they may seem) and allowing them the space and freedom to spread their wings! For those in relationships that are oppressive and burdensome, this transit will make the restrictions imposed by this relationship downright unbearable!

Frustration caused by feeling caged in may lead one or both partners astray. This can mean the end of a relationship, but only if it’s necessary! The end goal of this transit is to break-up stagnant, restrictive energy in relationships to allow room for more liberating forms of partnership!

For those with the Moon in Scorpio, Uranus in Taurus aims to break up old, restrictive unconscious emotional patterns and their resulting behaviors. There may be a push and pull between rebelling and breaking away from old, bad habits and jumping head first into more liberating ways of being. This transit could also signify the need to change your environment or family dynamic in order to support this change in the old, subconscious patterns.

Sagittarius

There is a need to work more independently and create dramatic change in daily routines and health habits during this 8-year transit. There can be a difficulty in maintaining routines that are too regimented, as doing the same thing day-in and day-out can cause extreme frustration and boredom under the influence of Uranus in your 6th house.

There’s a need for flexibility and sovereignty in your work and to incorporate more excitement and intellectual stimulation into your daily experience. Unexpected situations may arise involving coworkers or your place of work that force you to change your daily habits. Frustration with stagnant routine dealings will cause you to break free from old, stuck patterns inhibiting freedom in your daily life.

This transit may also indicate a change in your normal role in your work, or a change in profession completely. If this is the case, the end goal of this change is liberation through greater freedom and independence in your work.

If dealing with health issues during this transit, it is necessary to think outside of the box and consider alternatives to the more traditional approaches to health and healing.

This transit may bring about a desire for new, more exciting work-out routines or innovative approaches to health and nutrition. For Sagittarius rising signs in particular, with Uranus transiting the fixed sign of Taurus in your 6th house of health, it can prove beneficial to explore new ways of gently detoxifying the body through movement, nutrition, or supplementation.

Capricorn

Over these last 8 years, Uranus in Aries shook the foundations of your home, family and place of living (especially for all of you Capricorn Risings) and your identity was challenged and transformed in a big way! With Uranus transiting Taurus in your 5th house of romance, children, creativity and play, you can expect a much gentler, more passionate and exciting experience over these next eight years.

Uranus may bring new, more individualistic and unusual forms of creative self-expression. On the relationship side of things, you may find yourself faced with surprising opportunities for romance with partners to whom, in the past, you never would have given the time of day. This may cause you to broaden your horizons quite a bit when it comes to your romantic encounters and shakes up your love life in exciting ways!

Uranus in the 5th house typically brings short-lived love affairs and flings that bring a whirlwind of excitement and new experience. Romance may begin and end rather abruptly, and if you’re in a stable, committed partnership you may find yourself feeling more flirtatious or wanting to spice up your love life in unusual ways.

For those who have children, this transit can coincide with a change in parenting style or a need to give your child some space to foster greater self-sufficiency.

Over these next eight years, your children may become a bit more rebellious, asserting their need for independence. If you don’t have children, this transit is known to sometimes bring unexpected pregnancy so be extra cautious if this isn’t what you’re aiming for!

For those with their Moon in Capricorn, this transit can bring exciting opportunities for changes in location, gradual, positive changes in the home and family structure, or a new way to understanding and experiencing your emotions and intuition.

In fact, a common experience with this transit is flashes of intuitive insight coming in with a jolt—like a bolt of lightening that changes your perspective and causes you to make necessary, positive changes to your life.

Aquarius

For Aquarius Rising and Sun signs, the transit of Uranus in Taurus in the 4th house brings major disruption to your roots! You may find yourself experiencing sudden urges to uproot and move to a far-away place or even to travel the world, living as a nomad!

If you do choose to stick around you may find yourself feeling unsettled and frustrated with the status quo, causing you to remodel or redecorate your home to bring in a change of energy.

Often times with this transit, the choice isn’t truly yours to begin with and you’ll find yourself dealing with a very abrupt, unexpected move! It’s also common to move more than once under this influence. In addition in changes to your place of living, Uranus in your 4th house will bring significant changes to your family dynamic, and sometimes brings unexpected additions to the household!

In some extreme cases, family-life may also be altered due to divorce, accidents, accidents and disputes. Issues and tension between family members that have been buried under the surface and left unaddressed are likely to pop up in unexpected ways, ultimately leading to a resolution and a feeling of liberation.

These unusual and disruptive situations involving close family members and your place of living will keep you thinking on your feet over these next eight years! The end goal of this transit is to shake you out of stagnation when it comes to your home and family life, bring greater freedom and mobility and causing you to feel liberated in this area of life!

For those with the Moon in Aquarius, Uranus in Taurus will be making a square to your Moon! Similar to what Aquarius Sun and rising signs will experience, this transit will shake up your family unit, and bring the potential for an unexpected move! With the Moon involved, this also brings instability to your inner world and subjective experience.

Your emotions will become more volatile and unusually unsettled under this influence. At the same time, you may find yourself experiencing heightened intuitive awareness, with flashes of insight coming in from out of nowhere to change your perspective and lead you to move forward with positive changes. The end goal of this transit is to leave you with an internal sense of independence and to bring liberation from stuck patterns and emotional bondage.

Pisces

For Pisces Rising and Sun signs, this transit is all about unusual ideas, shocking downloads and flashes of inspiration, and more liberating ways of expressing yourself through communication! This transit shakes up your daily life, making your everyday encounters much less routine!

Chaotic, unpredictable and downright disruptive changes can come through communication, short-distance travel (especially via car), and your interactions with your community.

These next eight years may also bring disruptions and surprising revelations related to your siblings and extended family members, causing you to re-structure (or de-structure) your relationship. You may find yourself on the receiving end of some shocking and unusual text messages and emails throughout this eight-year transit!

It might seem that you are faced with a flood of new information, overloading your brain and forcing you to think about the world in new ways! Your old patterns of thinking are seriously challenged, causing you to take up new causes and learn exciting new skills in order to navigate your newly liberated mental terrain.

This transit is excellent for learning innovative new skills, especially those related to Uranian subjects such as science, technology, or even astrology! The end result of this transit is flexibility of thought and new, more unique interests.

For those with their Moon in Pisces, Uranus in Taurus will come into a supportive sextile with your Moon. This indicates that, if you choose to engage with this transit, you are supported in making positive changes to your emotional well-being, connection to your family (especially the mother) and place of living. /by Heather Eland
